 summarizing the bills.


Rep David Davis has implemented his proposed
accountability reforms two different ways:

1- As a single comprehensive bill incorporating
all the proposed reforms:

House Bill 754/Senate Bill 826



2- The four bills below each implement a part of
the plan so at least part of the plan can be
implemented even if the politicians prevent
adoption of the comprehensive bill:

House Bill 755/Senate Bill 821: Requires all
legislative committee meetings to be open to the
public.


House Bill 756/Senate Bill 236: Requires all
committee votes on the final action of a bill to
be recorded, i.e., no more voice votes where the
committee chairman dictates the votes


House Bill 757/Senate Bill 238: Requires all votes
to be posted on the TN Legislative web site.


House Bill 753/Senate Bill 825: Change the State
and County election commissions so that no
political party can control these commissions.


Current Status of Bills: The bills in the house
have been referred to the State Government
Sub-committee of the State and Local Government
Committee.

The bills in the Senate have been referred to the
State Government Committee.
